Week Four

I started another Listening Post this morning . . . Then finished it when I walked the dog again tonight . . . . So now, I'm back rereading my notes from Week-4 since I never blogged about it:  "that is the way I would describe or define a true systems philosophy, which is one that closes the feedback loop between the human being, their experience of reality, and their sense of participation in that whole cycle of experience."  I've started with the Guest Lecture now, and this is Peter Senge from the files/videos Week 4g-Peter Senge.pdf . . .

of course we all feel like we are always doing the same thing, where we started with some problem, something deeper, cutting across all these boundaries.  It's great how he's talking about the Collective Agent and the awakening to see this.
Funny he said about age 15, while for me it was an accident, 5/30/1980 . . . a date even for me.  But then he goes on to say how it's the firs time this issue has come up on a Global Scale where we all recognize this now.  It's great to hear him say how "there's always been these two parts-- the phenomenal part and the consciousness part."

Next video about how the groups coercive to other participants. . . .

And then more from Ed Schein who is talking about the MIT Center for group dynamics working with Douglas McGregor and Kurt Lewin at MIT which took him from social phycology to Business. Then how this lead into the groups learning from themselves, just by experiencing the space together, or allowing the learning to evolve from the participants, much the way MOOCs do now online.  The management-oriented laboratories where they discovered the power of the experience.  Where Action Research developed with the researcher was participating with the researched.

What was neat about this was how the next Guest Lecture was Steve Jobs, telling you three stories from his Life at Stanford University . . . First - Connecting the Dots!  Started college with no idea what he was doing, or what college would do for him. . . and dropped out to then take classes he really wanted to take.  Following his curiosity and interests instead of the Required Program for a degree.  You can't connect the dots looking forward, but you must believe it.  2nd story about Love and Loss. Started in the garage at 20 and Apple grow until he was 30 and then got fired. And loved it anyway and started over with NEXT and PiXar - - creating Toy Story.  And Apple bought NEXT! Wow!  Sometimes life hits you with a Brick, but DO WHAT YOU LOVE, and Keep going anyway.  Don't settle, keep looking until you find what you love!  3rd Story about Death => live each day as if it was the last.  Asking each morning "if this is my last day, am I doing exactly what I want to do?"  Your life is limited so don't live someone else's dogma. . . find what you love and live your own life!

And then a TED Talk about BrenĂ© Brown: The power of vulnerability. . . the Researcher Story Teller! to expanding perceptions!  BELIEVING THEY ARE WORTHY is where it all is.  Worthiness based on whole hearted people based on Courage (telling the story of who they are with the whole heart) Compassion & Connection (as a result of authenticity)  - - let go of who they thought they were to BE!  And fully embraced Vulnerability!!!  Eeek, not there yet!  lol!  Reminds me of what Otto said "many of the change makers, that are around today face challenges that call on us, that require us to let go of everything that isn't essential in order to step through the gate to emerging future possibility."

How do you respond to Vulnerability . . . Hum!
Interesting, as I came in to reread my notes, and there were no notes from the videos at the end.  So I watched them all again, as I read my notes. . . Now seeing I was noted from Otto's intro:

And the self has these two key elements; who I am today, my current self, and my emerging future Self, my highest future possibility. And making these two selves begin to listen to each other really is the essence of what this part of the journey is all about.
Now again it feels like what Peter Said in the video, how at 15 I realized what was happening, essentially the same thing I always did, but now watching it happen and taking a more active part instead of just watching it.  It's weird, as i remember my experience before my accident.  I was always seeing beyond, imagining and anticipating what I could do, where things broke shifted and changed, and how to get what I wanted. . . and now my Notes are at the line where Otto talks about the fire that took the life he knew away, changing his perspective . . . Like my accident, of that sweet 16 of 15 Peter mentioned

Funny, to think it's all linked to my work too, as I've been rewriting my theory piece, going back to where Grounded Theory and Sensemaking came from.  How they compliment each other and work together.  Linking them stronger and clearer each new word I read and write.  I guess that's really cool too!  What I trip to see what I highlighted and updating it now, as I click through them taking out the extra spaces. . . Just the numbers there alone are sooooo cool. . . 11/11/15 shifting to 11/15/15. How weird is that.

And Quintin was asking on the Abe List about the Kabbalah where they analyze the Names of God based on the Alphabet that directly translated into Numbers!  Of course the screen shot is timed at 8:05:55pm, so it's just more cool numbers.  And I remember the literature today reading the foundations of Weick's Sensemaking which included some piece on Language which listed analytical mathematics on the scale with it too. . . got another screen shot now:

Funny thing here is that it's from my PC at school, while the first clip was from my MacBook here at home. . .

OH I remember what I wanted to write about. . . you see how the math is at the bottom and music and art are at the top, or opposite end of this scale.  But what's so cool is that the top is connected to the bottom, or they are one in the same.  Like creating a big loop. . . and I remember Otto's prayer or meditation about connecting to the Earth.  So back to my notes and the next highlight is back to the fire where he said "And only in that moment of loss, with all of that gone, I realized how much I had been attached to it. How much my identity had been attached to that world."

Course then he says about how we should Journal about since it's moments like this that connect us and remind us we are change-makers here for a reason!

Oh yes, here it is the big loop again:
Imagine if we were trees, we would have roots going downwards. As human beings, we don't have these physical roots, but we still can feel the connection downwards. Attend to your feet and attend to the connection downwards. Imagine this connection would go downwards all the way down to the middle of the earth. Feel that connection. And now slowly move your attention upwards, up the legs, up the spine to the head, to the upper part of your head. Attend to the upper part of your head. And attend to the connection that is extending upwards. And as you attend to that connection notice how the sphere, the globe of your head is a small microcosm of the macrocosm that is surrounding us. Attend to that connection. Attend to the connection upwards.
found something: Remember the Mayan Chant is all about connecting Heaven and Earth...  Male and Female...  lol...  I can't tell you too much more... lol...  but gay and lesbian women fit into it all very well...  lol...  Like Laura and Aerial are both women and were together here when they first witnessed it years ago.    The witch Priestess in town that I visit, is Married to a Cherokee lady...  lol....   They taught me the Tree Meditations and witnessed the chant as it was just starting, too.  NO FEAR...  NO JUDGMENT ...  Why did God send Lesbians to me to witness and help start this???  Who knows?  Maybe this makes it easier for us to understand the New Community!!!
Oh i new I would find it Club Hedo =  Tree Meditation!

Wow what a trip to find this dated Tuesday, June 22, 2004 5:39 PM, but I can tell it was forwarded from somewhere
