We Are Better Than This

We Are Better Than This

WE GRIEVE THE MANY LIVES THAT HAVE BEEN LOST OR PAINFULLY TRANSFORMED IN RECENT WEEKS THROUGH EXTREME ACTS OF VIOLENCE.
AND WE ARE APPALLED BY THE SURGE OF DIVISIVE RHETORIC THAT SOWS THE SEEDS OF MORE VIOLENCE TO COME.
A DANGEROUS TIDE OF HATRED, VIOLENCE, AND SUSPICION IS RISING IN AMERICA — WHETHER AIMED AT ARAB AND MUSLIM AMERICANS, WOMEN AND THE PLACES WE SEEK HEALTH CARE, BLACK PEOPLE, IMMIGRANTS AND REFUGEES, OR PEOPLE JUST GOING ABOUT THEIR DAILY LIVES. THIS TIDE IS MADE MORE DANGEROUS BY EASY ignorance!
WHEN HAS HATE EVER LED TO PROGRESS? IS THIS REALLY WHAT WE WANT AMERICA TO BE?
WE ARE BETTER THAN THIS.

Prototyping| Presencing Institute U.School

What's the critical Elelment of our environment, culture or society?  What about how we teach, learn and Grow?  Seems like the easiest method or solution would be to link these together. . . What links our Environment, Culture, and Society together to teach, learn and grow improve = evolve?
Seems like the basic would be FOOD!  Growing our own food would inspire students both to learn, grow and teach. . . Like build from what's there. . . AWAY from the box lunch, to growing Real Food!  Not trying to exploit something, to get something else, profits.  But to take and use what's there and make it work naturally i the environment!  lol, sounds like fun!

Journal2MyGOD: Thank You Jesus Christ for Creating The Way of Your Word!

What now?
I START TO Build on what's there, use found objects . . .to learn what the potential are, push the current platforms . . . listening to this again to Push and Current Platforms!  Based on the power to ask the right questions, where do we imagine or hear this . . . listening to voices, where do you hear your own voices, those opinions arising from other people around us, and cut to the heart of those. . . what's everyone looking for?  Profits? Health? Life? explore idea and overcome the fears, and you only get to pick one of these.  So Profits = Life instead of meaning just greed!
You are quoting someone else there, which is usually why you write the red text.  You created this for you to understand and express things that you were experiencing and being beyond anything you could understand.
Join the disjoin the world around you, they compliment each other, using the tools from design world and u-world. . . to tap into more detail, to respond to others' challenges, and evolve ways of supporting those to continue to use. . . empower ways to use these techniques . . . Trying to TAP the maximum potential for who we are as Human Beings! . design thinking was project focused, and now it's expanding to more personal experience to understand design theory. . where that intuition grows from.
designs are externalizing these techniques and help each other understand asking the right questions, listening to the voices. . .

Tap into the Max human potential, action, creativity . . . where the intuition grow from? growing to encompass with methods, and understand the spirit, where ideas and experiences grow from. . . At the core of design thinking and Theory U, linking system thinking, leadership, creativity, spirituality into new culture for survival of mankind . . . Like the Righthand side of the U where you are linking and now decide what are the MOST IMPORTANT questions, and what are the quickest fastest ways to get at those . . . . to prototyping. decide what are the most important important question are, to tackle, to move idea, potential, problems, what is quickest way to experiment wit those questions and get answers
I did it . . . snapped the picture too! . . . shit, exploring my challenge, i'm fearful about everything i'm experiencing.
What just happened?  SAVE IT!  Creating your new way of getting together, and listening to the voices . . . . its' all you ever do, where all the Big Universe supports your every step. . . What did you do just now.
I used two keyboards, and I realize that their critical search is communication with the self.  While here before me, pictures, and experiencing of connecting to the moment where I am Being the challenge, engaged where each element of creation is allowing this very moment to share here into the universe, knowing these waves of light and energy vibrate across the universe into the tiniest little fractions beyond all detection beyond the reaches of the ONE ALL U!
While all along you are living the challenges before you.  Writing, sharing, and discussing the deeper elements of your truth, that you continue to share with everyone across the Earth, knowing this light shows up for the blind, experiencing the continued growth we all are together.

It's such a trip, i just talked to my iPhone and it popped up i the chat on the computer. It was SO AWESOME to exploit the technologies.  Then I turned on the video again - - which has been running loops as i read, type, edit, expand add . . . enjoy!  At this deeper level of creativity!  TOTLE BLISS, DEEP IN MY PASSION, SHARING THE TRUTH, IN SPIRIT BEYOND REASON!  WITH EVERYTHING At my finger tips . . . Everything a work in progress, full of helpful connections EVERYWHERE. . . So then i turned up the speakers and put my iPhone there to watch the typing fly by . . . lol . .
What are the most important questions?
It's the value of a person.  Which in fact is also our environment, our food, Live, Health and EARTH!
What changes have been saved.
I'm joining U.Lab because...
2.0 To Change the focus for education, by flipping the classroom, flipping the society, flipping the culture, student is NOT "customer" but "product."NEW Goal being to increase the product benefits, it's own understanding, available tools, ability engage to affect others supporting increased development in individuals, vs customers of a product i make, "selling education." Becomes experiencing education as creative passion development, instead of test taking to get a job. It's my JOB as the teacher to help you find your deepest passion and ability so Society and Culture benefit from your abilities.

My most important challenge right now is...
2.0 CHALLENGE: If this Earth IS MAN, at life is priceless since they all add to the whole.  All goals are set to support, evolve People!  People = Profit.  People themselves must be the product, where we all support and develop all LIFE, starting with school children. Not anything stolen from the Earth, packaged and sold to another to earn a profit, but investing in intelligent people contributing to society. Change person from "capitalism consumer" to creative hands supporting our new social solution, school, church, public office "conscious compatriot" = Participant!
The level at which I'm focused on creating change: Policy/Systems
The U.Lab will be a success for me when...: 2.0 MOOC Participants establish ONE VOICE = ONE MISSION =  using "LIKE" stats online = ONE MOOC, one stat listing to vote on all progress and evolution of the school, culture, society.
Only Person is a corporation such that Stocks are abolished, replaced with tenure, making all corporations employee owned,

What did you do now?
I got some oat meal . . . yum, i could live on this stuff!  I better I guess!  lol . .
What are the most important questions?
It's lol . . . . it's all about what's next!
What is the most important question?
It's It's, It's, lol . . . such a total trip to see this develop at my finger tips before my eyes, like nothing i could ever imagine. And i realize it was I who created it all.  Which everyone gets lost in, based on how they define "I" . . . since if there is only ONE LIFE, the i needs to be redefined to include everyone!
What did you flash too? ?
It was the greenhouse full of bunks where all the homeless could work, come, go, live grow, learn. Where all our power and energy went to supporting life.  Each individual is given full and complete room, food, health, guidance, luxury, 'so . . . all life was in reach, and they could only produce, garden, read, learn, grow, evolve in a world only supporting life, insight of stealing and exploiting it at every turn. . .

why not? . . . . you are alive too
What are the most important questions?
It's always so simple, lol . . . there IS ENOUGH, we are ONE EARTH it would not be here if it was not meant to survive, grow and evolve, we just need to take control!

What are the most important questions?

DO WE REALLY WANT TO LEARN GROW AND EVOLVE, BE CHANGMAKERS, or just talk about it?
What are the most important questions?
It's all about getting grateful since this is an experience we all share learn and know . . . lol . . . Oh and now these GREAT guest lectures too! Starting with Michelle Long trying to get where people have equal footing.  Cool "And I said, what if we had a business organization where we all were contributing with our highest purpose and meaning toward the things that we all care about?" Figures!  And next is Nipun Mehta talk and he's talking about his development too: Ghandi 2.0 many to many network!  Teaching people to be in the FLOW with their Kindness Muscles: "We were just holding space for them to practice an act of kindness every day. And even they thought they were just doing the small thing, but this small thing coupled with the inner transformation that accompanies it, coupled with a circle that holds all of those reflections, starts to really create an incredible capacity" Neato how he's talking about the Time Bank we are doing here in Tampa Bay. . . The Gift Economy where people are trading time and experience. . . Not sure how many years it's worked, but they used the STARS account so I could get the exact details easily ;-)

Next is Peter Senge with the System Dynamics group he started with. . . principles of systems thinking--"the importance of the feedback loop, the importance of delays, the importance of non-linearity, as I was talking before. This, you might say, the conceptual underpinnings, but it only really leaps into full impact on reality when it's combined with the ability to activate and develop our sensory understanding, because then it becomes a feeling as well as a thought" Oh wow, and my favorite quote at the very end of this from Peter: "We have this immense capacity, which we can barely even imagine. And it's that capacity that now is essential for our survival."

Cool, some more: Week 6h-Peter Senge(Part3) Wow, great piece again where Peter talks about the experience with Rusty the Astronaut looking at the Earth from space for hours. . . Then Otto brings it back to reality saying when we talk about shifting the interface on that we operate, it really is a shift from me to we. From just kind of my own small part to a larger whole that to some degree is accessible, and to some other degree is not."
What are the most important questions?

Week 5 - PROTOTYPING SUPPORT & GALLERY

First video with Otto, about forming the Right Intentions and then the Right Connections, and then Iterate, Iterate, Iterate . . . with the Marshmallow challenge. . . where the kindergarten kids do best and MBA students do worse!  Not a big surprise, but great stuff, see Marshmallowchallenge.com . . . It helps people ID hidden assumptions, shared experience, common language, shared understanding, common stance . . . Next was Otto's experience and description of 0.8 prototyping, which is like a half-step short of version 1.0!

That's principal number four. Platforms and spaces that function as a landing strip for the emerging future.  And now always listen to the Universe . . .

6TH PRINCIPLE: Integrating Head, Heart, and Hand

Watch the video, then answer the questions in the sixth box of your U.Lab Source Book, page 7. Once you finish, you will have completed Worksheet #2 in the Source Book. There are additional resources throughout the book that you may find useful as you prototype.
Still have questions? Continue to the next section to meet Ela Ben-Ur who is available this week to support you with prototyping.
wow, she's doing some cool stuff. . . working with Otto might be really cool!   Theory U really is linking systems thinking, and leadership, and creativity, from the viewpoint of the deeper dimension of human creativity.

Week Four

I started another Listening Post this morning . . . Then finished it when I walked the dog again tonight . . . . So now, I'm back rereading my notes from Week-4 since I never blogged about it:  "that is the way I would describe or define a true systems philosophy, which is one that closes the feedback loop between the human being, their experience of reality, and their sense of participation in that whole cycle of experience."  I've started with the Guest Lecture now, and this is Peter Senge from the files/videos Week 4g-Peter Senge.pdf . . .

of course we all feel like we are always doing the same thing, where we started with some problem, something deeper, cutting across all these boundaries.  It's great how he's talking about the Collective Agent and the awakening to see this.
Funny he said about age 15, while for me it was an accident, 5/30/1980 . . . a date even for me.  But then he goes on to say how it's the firs time this issue has come up on a Global Scale where we all recognize this now.  It's great to hear him say how "there's always been these two parts-- the phenomenal part and the consciousness part."

Next video about how the groups coercive to other participants. . . .

And then more from Ed Schein who is talking about the MIT Center for group dynamics working with Douglas McGregor and Kurt Lewin at MIT which took him from social phycology to Business. Then how this lead into the groups learning from themselves, just by experiencing the space together, or allowing the learning to evolve from the participants, much the way MOOCs do now online.  The management-oriented laboratories where they discovered the power of the experience.  Where Action Research developed with the researcher was participating with the researched.

What was neat about this was how the next Guest Lecture was Steve Jobs, telling you three stories from his Life at Stanford University . . . First - Connecting the Dots!  Started college with no idea what he was doing, or what college would do for him. . . and dropped out to then take classes he really wanted to take.  Following his curiosity and interests instead of the Required Program for a degree.  You can't connect the dots looking forward, but you must believe it.  2nd story about Love and Loss. Started in the garage at 20 and Apple grow until he was 30 and then got fired. And loved it anyway and started over with NEXT and PiXar - - creating Toy Story.  And Apple bought NEXT! Wow!  Sometimes life hits you with a Brick, but DO WHAT YOU LOVE, and Keep going anyway.  Don't settle, keep looking until you find what you love!  3rd Story about Death => live each day as if it was the last.  Asking each morning "if this is my last day, am I doing exactly what I want to do?"  Your life is limited so don't live someone else's dogma. . . find what you love and live your own life!

And then a TED Talk about BrenĂ© Brown: The power of vulnerability. . . the Researcher Story Teller! to expanding perceptions!  BELIEVING THEY ARE WORTHY is where it all is.  Worthiness based on whole hearted people based on Courage (telling the story of who they are with the whole heart) Compassion & Connection (as a result of authenticity)  - - let go of who they thought they were to BE!  And fully embraced Vulnerability!!!  Eeek, not there yet!  lol!  Reminds me of what Otto said "many of the change makers, that are around today face challenges that call on us, that require us to let go of everything that isn't essential in order to step through the gate to emerging future possibility."

How do you respond to Vulnerability . . . Hum!
Interesting, as I came in to reread my notes, and there were no notes from the videos at the end.  So I watched them all again, as I read my notes. . . Now seeing I was noted from Otto's intro:

And the self has these two key elements; who I am today, my current self, and my emerging future Self, my highest future possibility. And making these two selves begin to listen to each other really is the essence of what this part of the journey is all about.
Now again it feels like what Peter Said in the video, how at 15 I realized what was happening, essentially the same thing I always did, but now watching it happen and taking a more active part instead of just watching it.  It's weird, as i remember my experience before my accident.  I was always seeing beyond, imagining and anticipating what I could do, where things broke shifted and changed, and how to get what I wanted. . . and now my Notes are at the line where Otto talks about the fire that took the life he knew away, changing his perspective . . . Like my accident, of that sweet 16 of 15 Peter mentioned

Funny, to think it's all linked to my work too, as I've been rewriting my theory piece, going back to where Grounded Theory and Sensemaking came from.  How they compliment each other and work together.  Linking them stronger and clearer each new word I read and write.  I guess that's really cool too!  What I trip to see what I highlighted and updating it now, as I click through them taking out the extra spaces. . . Just the numbers there alone are sooooo cool. . . 11/11/15 shifting to 11/15/15. How weird is that.

And Quintin was asking on the Abe List about the Kabbalah where they analyze the Names of God based on the Alphabet that directly translated into Numbers!  Of course the screen shot is timed at 8:05:55pm, so it's just more cool numbers.  And I remember the literature today reading the foundations of Weick's Sensemaking which included some piece on Language which listed analytical mathematics on the scale with it too. . . got another screen shot now:

Funny thing here is that it's from my PC at school, while the first clip was from my MacBook here at home. . .

OH I remember what I wanted to write about. . . you see how the math is at the bottom and music and art are at the top, or opposite end of this scale.  But what's so cool is that the top is connected to the bottom, or they are one in the same.  Like creating a big loop. . . and I remember Otto's prayer or meditation about connecting to the Earth.  So back to my notes and the next highlight is back to the fire where he said "And only in that moment of loss, with all of that gone, I realized how much I had been attached to it. How much my identity had been attached to that world."

Course then he says about how we should Journal about since it's moments like this that connect us and remind us we are change-makers here for a reason!

Oh yes, here it is the big loop again:
Imagine if we were trees, we would have roots going downwards. As human beings, we don't have these physical roots, but we still can feel the connection downwards. Attend to your feet and attend to the connection downwards. Imagine this connection would go downwards all the way down to the middle of the earth. Feel that connection. And now slowly move your attention upwards, up the legs, up the spine to the head, to the upper part of your head. Attend to the upper part of your head. And attend to the connection that is extending upwards. And as you attend to that connection notice how the sphere, the globe of your head is a small microcosm of the macrocosm that is surrounding us. Attend to that connection. Attend to the connection upwards.
found something: Remember the Mayan Chant is all about connecting Heaven and Earth...  Male and Female...  lol...  I can't tell you too much more... lol...  but gay and lesbian women fit into it all very well...  lol...  Like Laura and Aerial are both women and were together here when they first witnessed it years ago.    The witch Priestess in town that I visit, is Married to a Cherokee lady...  lol....   They taught me the Tree Meditations and witnessed the chant as it was just starting, too.  NO FEAR...  NO JUDGMENT ...  Why did God send Lesbians to me to witness and help start this???  Who knows?  Maybe this makes it easier for us to understand the New Community!!!
Oh i new I would find it Club Hedo =  Tree Meditation!

Wow what a trip to find this dated Tuesday, June 22, 2004 5:39 PM, but I can tell it was forwarded from somewhere

Arawana and Social Presencing Theater

In Part 2, Otto and Arawana suggest that Social Presencing Theater does for the collective what mindfulness does for the individual:
https://youtu.be/IhQg_SOephU
WOW
ok, so this is wicked cool again!
As I heard this, and sense what she was talking about I FLASHED to Ritual and the time I did it with the KINS group.  I mean a dozen in a circle doing a Ritual from before the start of time.  Of course it's all about connecting to the universal mind, and the power and experience of being more than just a man, or person, or individual. . . And ancient Ritual that regenerated karma, what kinda freaky vision is that?  How could it show up in my lap?  I immediately started to wonder if Otto had found this experience, or wrote about it at the same time my mom died.  Or the same time Colleen got cancer, or the same time the kids cured her cancer?

I mean I immediately Flashed to these times and experiences wondering how people connected in spirit through rituals, and her one showed up for me, like some freaky destiny experience, that people write about or dream about or spend life-times trying to figure out!

Again now,  i see how this is what Douglas, Sharon, Russell and I have been Doing and working on.
https://youtu.be/Zt7GgzDok6I

Funny, what feels sad for me now, it that I sent them all the first set of videos, and they didn't watch them all, and again now, I KNOW I will be sending this to all of them.  And I wonder who will watch or who will miss the boat.  Then I flash to maybe it's my Son or Wife who got copies and never watched?  Who knows?

Wow, that was weird.  I just Flashed back to the KINS meeting where I did Ritual, and I told them how to move energy in a simple real way they could experience it.  And then came back and asked who did it, since I could feel the shift.  I mean there is only ONE consciousness, so whether we know, accept or understand this. . . If we play with crazy Rituals that shift creation, we feel it.  Course Carol eventually told me she did it.  Funny, I seem to remember she told me weeks later, and Sharon remembered me asking and never getting an answer, as Carol missed the next meeting or something weird like that.

It's so strange to see all these things connecting again and again.  Like I wrote this morning, 5-investors?  Really weird shit showing up!

More: https://youtu.be/qlM7ThIS15s
powerful, and clear, lol. . . to me at least ;-)

Ah, so now do this:

There are two ways to use this video:
    1. Watch and see what the 20 Minute Dance looks like. Then start the video over, find a place to practice, and do the exercise while you listen to the audio. Recommended if you have never done this exercise before.
    2. Skip directly to practice. Use the audio as a guided facilitation of the 20 Minute Dance. Recommended if you have previously done this exercise, or are practicing with a trained SPT facilitator.
    3. yes the last link, you can do it now.  Just hit play and do it as she walks you through it: https://youtu.be/trFFWRrhjnc
Wow, the Stuck videos are great too: https://youtu.be/-FLT-l7luY8
this next one, shows people doing it where YOU CAN FEEL it, or at least I did, just seeing them make a pose, ouch! https://youtu.be/uVeU1fTuSZc

What does your stuck want to do?
Where does it- where in the body is it just
not wanting to do that anymore?
And the movement begins there, and you just follow it along
until it comes to an end.
And if you have thoughts about it, that's fine.
Just let those go.
Let go.
The loyalty is to the body.
Really take your time to feel your stuck.
See it clearly and really sense into it.
What does the belly feel like?
What about the knees?
What do they have to say about this?
What about the neck?
What about the muscles of your face?
What about the hands?
Where is it relaxed?
Where is it intensified or held?
All of that is information.
Your stuck is a great resource.

Wow can we do a group stuck too:  https://youtu.be/XvgVt-JBpO8
Nobody is stuck on their own. When you are stuck, there is a system of forces that keep you from moving forward. This video shows how the Stuck method can be used to explore possible ways for a person's system of stuck forces to evolve from current to future reality.
Watch the video and afterwards, if you are practicing with a group, try doing the exercise together.

Now let's really do this:  https://youtu.be/9uTYjA5RSIA

eric's Dashboard | Presencing Institute U.School

eric's Dashboard | Presencing Institute U.School: It's weird, as sometimes I feel almost forced into the higher listening. Today I had to work out table at the Flea Market for an hour. Students coming up asking questions and wondering what the college is all about. So of course I'm sharing knowledge and feeling where people are at and what they really want to know. But then suddenly I flash into something more. Not just sharing knowledge or learning about sustainability. . . I'm connected to where their passion is and how they are ready to move into something more. So my questions shift and my attitude. Suddenly I'm excited and suggesting new ideas and ways to express and find their own new ideas. It was weird as soon one kid was commenting how I connected him with the next kid and how they could easily work together to develop something. So here I suddenly went from listening to their words to projecting new opportunities and benefits which were beyond the moment. Like I flashed into the future where they could do so much more and I was only a spectator, maybe just suggesting directions. It was weird as the kid noticed it and I had no idea. . . . I know I do that all the time, leading into new things where everyone benefits.

Of course it will work. However, we have found that much of the system here is based on old technologies and old methods. Sure we all want something new, but the major players are all making a LOT of money from the old technologies and the old ways. For example the state now has NEGATIVE incentives for solar. What's that mean, well extra taxes and expenses on new solar energy systems, so the old existing coal and gas power systems and monopolies are safe and supported. This is true for 80-90% of the economy. Like the car, everyone wants trains and mass transit, but drive down the street and 70-80% of the businesses are car repair, car services, car parts, gasoline, insurance for cars, attorneys for accidents. . . To shift to trains would destroy all these businesses. Health care is the same thing. Get people healthy and we loose the drug-store on every corner and the doctors and hospitals in every neighborhood. Mayor, farmer and teacher all want things to change, but all the money in the city is from industries that wont change. Like curing cancer is illegal, since it's completely man-made for men to profit. . . . remove cancer and the whole state economy collapses!

What causes wellness | Sir Harry Burns | TEDxGlasgow - YouTube

Of course the end of week 2 give us more on the issues in Scotland.  Great details I need to explore for our event next month: Enriching Community Connections: Recognizing the Power of the Collective, which Russell explains so well!

What causes wellness | Sir Harry Burns | TEDxGlasgow - YouTube: Published on Jul 25, 2014

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. How can meaning and purpose contribute to one's wellbeing? Sir Harry Burns explores the concept of salutogenesis and the impact it has on the most disadvantaged members of our community.

As the former Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Scotland, the Scottish Government’s Principal Medical Adviser and Head of the Scottish Medical Civil Service, Sir Harry is dedicated to improving people’s health and social well being.

In 1994, he became Director of Public Health for Greater Glasgow Health board, a position he occupied until 2005. During this time, he continued research into the problems of social determinants of health, and later in 1998, was lead clinician in Scotland for cancer care.

Post to this thread | Presencing Institute U.School

Post to this thread | Presencing Institute U.School: Hey Markus, that sounds neat. And I think I have felt that a lot too. Sometimes it's our own confort level that allows us to hold a certain level of listening. Like is this person I'm with sharing something real from the heart, or just gossip? Course this is really my own interpretation and easily could be either. Like I can percieve it as gossip when it's really deep truth, just like I can perceive it as deep truth when it's not. But now that fun begins, either way, does it help or hurt me, or the other? Will it really hurt me if I get deep into the feeling and emotion of simple gossip vs real truth? And in either case will that lead me to learn, share and love more and/or help them learn share and love more? Or maybe the real question is Does listening into level four ever hurt?

Great stuff Markus, you got me thinking about all sorts now too! thanks

Moments of Transformation | Presencing Institute U.School

Moments of Transformation | Presencing Institute U.School: 18 Oct 2015 - 9:24pm #16
by eric weaver

It was something that happened once. Then it happened again seemingly years later. Then I noticed it would happen monthly and now weekly. Each time I connect with someone and inspire passion. . . I can see The Shift in their eyes. Some how they understand something new and beyond what was there only a moment before.

Adit did it last week. He understood what I meant to find his passion. I asked him if he had scored every hour 1 to 5, and how many awesome 5s he had. He told me how he went home and thought about all the experiences he had that day. What was best of all was that he knew he had a bunch of 5s and he was able to see and explain what he really enjoy the most from his experiences. That remarkable transformation!!!! Where I can see a new Soul come out ready to play! Wow is that such an inspiring moment. And he was ready and excited about telling me every detail. How awesome was that. . . .

So then I ask him to look at the events he loved the most in his life, and really find the feeling deep inside and try to discover what inspired his passion. I told him we can all feel great with others looking up to us, or listening to us, but what about that experience was the most powerful "inside of him?". . . So I sent him on to discover more. . . And we're meeting for lunch to talk about next term classes now. . . wow

There is something extraordinary happening in the world — Medium

There is something extraordinary happening in the world — freed myself from society, I’ve released myself from attachments I had and fear that locked me to the system. And since then, I started seeing the world from a different perspective. The perspective that everything is changing and most of us have not even realized that.

Of course, everything is connected all the time for me. . . And so I got an email about catching up on this Edx course I'm doing with Otto.   So I click the link to my course, and find where I left off.  I've been making a PDF as I read and take notes from all the lectures and then Blog about it too.  So I open another browser and this is what's open - -  Yea emails send to one browser and blogs from another browser.  I will have Firefox, Chrome and Microsoft open on my PC and the Safari and Chrome open on my Mac, and go back and forth between the two.

Like now I got another notice from Edx how silly is this:

DAYNA CUNNINGHAM: THE PLUMBER & THE SOCIAL FIELD

In Week 1, Dayna described her background and how she came to understand presencing as a social technology that can facilitate a shift in empathy in a social field. In part two of this four-part series, Dayna shares a metaphor about the social field that she learned from her plumber.
Dayna will join Otto and Adam to film the office hours video that we will post on Wednesday, September 30th. As you watch, if you have questions or comments for Dayna, please post them on the discussion board. She will be reading them!

Dayna shares a metaphor about the social field that she learned from her plumber.  - - - the roots of the tree grew into the pipes and clogged them.  Dead tree will grow for three more years . . . if you pay attention you can smell the roots growing . . . you got to sense it and understand it.
A social field is so abstract, but even in winter if you are not paying attention the ground is frozen, but if you pay attention the seeds and germinating or growing . . . Shift society to a beloved community. . The role of the individual is great, but the role of the community is the power that needs to be attended to. . . as a leader, How you pay attention, and knowing the roots are there. . . the leader needs to capture social reality creation in flight. . . how you pay attention in any context, can shift what is happening in the room . . .

What Emerges for me!

I recently expressed to my wife a bit of what emerged for me this week.  It was really kinda weird, and I know some will think it's really nothing at all.  But it's just coming beyond reason.  The synergy and circumstances that come into my day are simply remarkable some times.  And it's one thing to set intentions and allow emergence, but it's really something totally different when things just get weird.

Every morning, I take my dog for a walk.  Behind my house is like 20 acres of City Park.  I've been trying to walk down to the river more, so my dog gets to run a bit more. . . I still will just sit on the lawn chairs and watch him.  But I knew he and I both needed to walk more.  Anyway, as I walk back home along the edge where the houses line up like my own, I noticed a few have a bunch of ferns growing along the fence line.  I thought it would be nice to get that started along my fence too.

Yesterday morning, as I walked out the back, with the dog running out ahead, I stopped, remembering the ferns.  I have a little mattock in my garden that would be easy to get some ferns.  As I turned back inside the gate, I saw a machete by our deck and grabbed it. . . Sure chop a bit, no problem.   As I walked over to the house, I started looking for runners, where the ferns spread out into the grass field away from the fence and the bordered yard.

I found a few that would soon be mowed over, that I could pull to plant in my yard.  And there on the ground behind the border where some ferns pulled out?  I picked one up.  It was still green, with clump of dirt around the roots still.  Then I noticed there were a bunch of them.  Like my neighbor had pulled all these ferns from somewhere else in his yard and threw them over the fence into the field.

Some neighbors have piles of brush along the fence, some have little borders.  I've planted a few beds for vegetables and set up lawn chairs.

WOW, so I went to get some ferns and found bunches there pulled-out, waiting for me to pickup.  There were a few other boarder plants I liked there too.  I never used my machete, but now have a bunch of ferns in water by my kitchen window.  I should be able to plant them all soon.

Something else almost as weird.  Last week, I raced out of my office.  A block down the street there is a stop sign, where I turn right, and then right again to get onto the main road into town.  As I made the first turn I noticed a police car sitting in the grass around the corner.  Course it started moving and soon the lights were on.  The officer asked me for my drivers license, registration and insurance card.  Yes, I know I didn't come to a "complete stop" at the stop sign.

Course then she said my insurance and registration cards were out of date.  I flipped through a dozen more from the glove box, as I add another every year, just printing and dropping into my box.  Nope couldn't find any up to date.  A few minutes later she came back and gave me two warnings.  She said I could have been given three tickets costing me over $500 in violations.

Yesterday, I raced out again for lunch.  As I pulled through the first turn.  I noticed a police car on the grass starting to move.  "OH, Shit" not again. . . and I kept going.  I soon noticed the cop stopped and DID NOT come out to ticket me.  As I was racing down the main road to lunch.  I stopped to think about the last time I was stopped by a cop.  Seems like they all ignore me, or only give me warnings, as  I seem to have several.  I was wondering if maybe something I did while working for the city of county got me labelled or something "do not ticket"!

Either way, it was all just weird.  Intention and emergence is just weird stuff, and I never can explain it or understand how these things happen.  But everyday I see something weird like this.  Some days a LOT more weird than other days!

week 4 office hours. . . reviwing everything

Otto - - inside the Alchomist - - where we are now!  Of course, how perfect.  I need to talk more abotu my own ULab journey.

After the last season we are in process, connecting to the deeper parts of who we are . . . as we look around, we see nothing.  We are at this point in the journey. . . Three words in Action: 1) Connecting!  Linking to the left-hand side, heart wide open, seeing the world from the edge. . .2) Staying WIth, after connecting with the deeper source, stay with it adn wait until something emerges.  DO NOT jump into action, WAIT, stay with what is there, see what emerges 3) GO WITH IT, when something emerges, stay with is, help it come into reality - - the three action principles. . . at STAY WITH NOW in the ULab processes. . . go to live season and do the journalling. . . go on dialog walk,  start processing...
ON the 19 questions.  See the inner Castle Video - - - what is it that wants to emerge - - HOW can I create the space for this....

Adam - - important to have a dialog with one person!  After the Jouranlling exercise. . .
Otto - - create safe place with 2nd live season, to drop into the deeper aspects of the own experience, adn then proces with current present individual. . . before engageing in larger groups.

Adam - - Emotional theate?
Otto - - what comes up, through mirroring process. . . something that you do not expect.  Two week awareness training and then one week solo. . . resulted in a lot of sadness, and then explored it deeper to explore and discover where it came through. . . I became aware of that my actions brought me sadness.  Balance out the sad and positive, do not go too deep in one side.  Balance the two.  Be sure to share with one or two others, and you can deal with it, if you want and ready to deal with these.  Only do what you are comfortable, never do it if another tells you to, but only when you are ready.

Adam - - Final point, as a group member, we are there to hold the4 space not address the problesm.
Otto - - yes , stay with it, and give it attention, but not solutions, crystallize it and hold the blank canvas for an image to emerge . . .that's what we are practicing this week.

so I've learned.  Find the facts of where someone is at, and then they generative flashes off into space can be more productive, insightful, and determinate for making our space, time, and experience move forward.  Of course I wanted to me in the final space completely.  But without ego, there is no use being out in some space. .  .ALL ALONE!
oh so that's what keeps people there in two. . .EGO and FEAR to leave the ego!  How easy is that. .  .  lol... wow another wordle:

The Legend of Bagger Vance

Journal2MyGOD: The Future of Business | Slantpoint: Otto Scharmer, senior lecturer at MIT and co-founder of the Presencing Institute, we have entered an Age of Disruption. Traditional approaches are at an impasse. Yet the possibility of profound personal, organizational, societal change has never been more real.

Thank You Jesus Christ for Creating The Way of Your Word!
What u doing now?
I need to do this class, or take notes live here too. . .  I Love You Dearest Loving Lord Jesus Christ.  Thanks for your strength love and wisdom as i travel through this with us.

MY POSTED Answers. .  .

I am anxious to develop new opportunities for our school and students locally

9:51:02 PM the essence of co-sensing is about connecting to reality in a different way,

9:51:15 PM  how to connect with the field.
9:51:25 PM

it's time to see the field, . . . look at bobby jones. . look at his practice swing, searching for something, feel that focus, there is only one shot that is in harmony with this field, and that shot will choose us. . .we got to get out of the way and let the shot choose us. . . see he's in the field, see where everything that is, becomes one, gotta seek that place within your soul. . . don't think about it, feel it. . . feel it with your hands, not your head. just you, that ball, that ball and all that you are.   We gotta seek that place connected to the field were everything becomes one. . . That one place we can all recognize.
Radio now!  grace wins every time. . . singing hayeluya. . . every
time.. .
I finally get the read the course:
Co-sensing is not about thinking. It's especially not about downloading ideas from the past onto new situations. It's about beginning to open up, to suspend habits of judgment, to connect to others with your mind and heart wide open. In every setting, there is much more going on than meets the eye. The more subtle aspects of social reality creation, those that the mind doesn't always grasp, are nevertheless visible to the hands and to the heart. We love how clearly this is expressed in the short clip that follows. Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NeMjWb9mwQs

profound shifts in the fields of conversation that we can experience

this is really great stuff. . . it reminds me of my son ;-)
Conversations are the living embodiment of social fields. How do these patterns change?

In a level three conversation, a reflective dialogue,
I'm beginning to ask genuine questions.
What makes you think differently?
Why is it?
So what are the experiences, what are the foundations
based on which you come up with a viewpoint
that's so different, or slightly different
to my own conclusions.
wow, it's so cool to be reading this now . . . I've been getting this email about my listening experiences. . . So I opened some link somewhere and read the questions . . . course I'm always trying to stay grounded. It's like deciding the BE the change, instead of simply talking about it.  What's so funny about it now, is how I remember when I first got to Tampa.  One thing to know you were sent someplace. . . It's another where I can see, feel and measure the BOOT PRINT on my ass, kicking me down here.  Not able to sit still for YEARS! . . .

But still worse than this, . . . lol. . . or better still.  Was that I never came down from the flight.  Like BOOTED up in the air, and everything every where was flashing into what is to come. . . Like not seeing the past, not seeing the dialog or the conflict. . . not even seeing the empathy or thinking of how others felt.   I guess that went along with the boot on my butt?  Like I could not only walk in your shoes, I wore them hard and rough, through all the HURTS too.  All those old dirty boots from everyone kicking me all the time!

So wow, what a weird perspective. . . and its not clear yet.  As feeling all those boots from everyone all the time was not half of it.. . . shit only 10-20%!  As the 80-90% was feeling, seeing, experiencing what could be.

Always lost in the clouds floating along seeing the fantasies, visions, dreams  . . . wow. . . it was literally years learning about dreams i realize now.  So street marines, spoiled frat boys, desperate professors, civil servants desperate to fit in. . . wow.  Road rats on the bike, like the first 20 years in NJ. . . lol. . .

wow, been there, done that.  And now it was pre-sensing EVERYTHING, EVERYWHERE, all I could see, all i could imagine was out there in some future space where EVERYTHING was connected, One Life, One Experience, One Evolution

Assessment 1

Assessment 1
PART ONE: Reflect on your day. In the space provided, enter the percent of your time you felt engaged in each level of listening. The total should equal 100%.

Level 1: Downloading * 15
Listening from your habits, from what you already know; the result is you re-confirm what you already knew.
Level 2: Factual * 10
Noticing something new, something that differs from what you already knew or expected to hear.
Level 3: Empathizing * 30
Listening from the place the other person is speaking from, experiencing/sensing an emotional connection.
Level 4: Generative * 45
Connecting to the emerging future - to a future possibility that links to your emerging self; to who you really are.
Total *100

PART TWO: Join our action research by co-creating a global deep listening database. Share a story about a moment today when you experienced a shift from one level of listening to another. Then select the tag below that indicates which shift you experienced.

DESCRIPTION OF YOUR EXPERIENCE
It was at lunch after a meeting.  I came in from out of town as a guest.  My associate had been invited to help his friend with the AASHE STARS report.  Our University had completed it several times, and he had worked as my work-study student helping me during the last term to update it.  Now his friend in the next city over was trying to complete the STARS report at their University, so they invited me to help get an idea about what this meant.

The three of us had planned lunch and two others came along.  It was clear to me sitting at lunch that we were the most outspoken at the previous meeting.  Of course, everyone had questions for me, but now I was able to sit back and listen to the conversation.  I'm always sensing too much, and rarely will speak up unless asked.  Now being in a social place, I was able to state the obvious. . . . I told them how they were clearly at a place where they would benefit from something we were doing.  Change Leaders are few and far between, but often they are busy and full with projects and activities.  However, we found that meeting to share, just socially, can be critical to progress.

We are all pushing projects and actions everywhere.  However, to stop and share socially with others who are doing the same thing can really be powerful.  Not creating another project, another team, or event. . . but simply meeting monthly to share the challenges and struggles we have in our own.  Leaders sharing leadership ideas and concept is critical.  Of course one person said he was intimidated bringing together leaders because they want to know what they will get, what the meeting results will be. . . Ah, clearly someone not ready!  Not yet seeing the Big picture enough to step beyond doing and getting, and step into simply BEing and SHARing which is enough in itself.

first live sessions

Otto starts after the intro from Adam and the Wordles, 6500 replies, as shown in the last post . . . Course I have used Wordles before, there is so much that can be read into these, as so much is about words . . . now an example with Ian from CA with Water issues, trying to find new ideas! Perfect!

Next Otto speaks about how we each start with our own intentions, speaking about how it is to move into the "co-sences" moving into the co-experience we are in today, in this current moment of disruption we are experiencing.  They launched Ulab in January, 9 months ago. . . as prototype/experiment - - 25,000 participants, surprised by the self organized "Activating the dormant field of change."  Third live session in February, prepared for the closing, strong response was "you can't end now!"

We are "birthing a globally distributed community of inspired change makers" - - we need more, 4th live session in April.  Met with Berlin Team - - focused on making sense of this, what are we "called to do", where does this "field want us to do". . .

So he started a video with Edgar Mitchel (and others) talking about seeing the Earth, and how we need to care for it too. . . then posed two questions:
Connect with what touched you and turn the camera back on "planet earth / planet self":
Where are you experiencing a world that is ending or dying?
Course I have the answers that they put into a Wordle.  So what do I EXPERIENCE DYING?   Really seems like a funny question for me.  Having "been there done that," which really makes it a challenge for me to feel for others who struggle with grieving.  I've tried and gotten better with this, as my wife has been challenged with a few deaths.  I kinda see it as temporary, or really something that is an illusion like time and space.  Sure time and space are real for us NOW, as is death.  But they all fit into the same box for me. . .

So ME, "experiencing dying" now feels more like seeing what is dying around me.  And that is the old Paradigm.  The ways of greed and control are fast dying.  They are simply killing each other off, very quickly.  And the sad part is that they will continue doing this until they are gone.  So what do I see?  I see selfish arrogant choking all around me on their own desires.  It's something I tend to avoid completely.  But I see it around me, on the roads, in the streets, people and experiences others have in the old way of doing things that is slowing killing them. I wrote my brother again today.  Sent him some real news about how the press and media present what Business wants, not the truth.  And the truth is hidden and buried behind. . . Sounds like the New Soils Otto spoke about, where our seeds of Truth are well buried, ready to come up after all the greed scorches the surface!
I Experience the Dying of the old ways of living!
Next questions:
Where are you experiencing a world that is emerging or wanting to be born?
Funny this is about "where"?  That's kinda interesting, a place!  Of course, I am experiencing the emerging here where I am!  So it's emerging in Tampa Bay, and here at the Patel College of Global Sustainability.
Where something full or Love, Collaboration and the collective with people is born and growing real and true before our eyes.  Course I see this more now than ever, as our new leadership is far removed from the old paradigm or fear and control.

This lines up very well with the U-process Otto is talking about letting-go to let-come . . . by "tuning into our deeper source of knowing"

Begins by tuning into the inner leadership knowing, by opening up the mind, the heart, and opening the will to let-go and let-come.  To bring the emerging sense of self for creating a "new we". . .

So now is the really cool part, he started a meditation online for everyone who was there. . to do a "collective intention setting" . . . and this is when someone sent in a new note to the New Hubs.  Someone is San Francisco was traveling to St Pete, asking to connect here.  Course this is when I clicked into the first video and here was Otto making his Mindfulness Experience part of his course. . . course NOW I do it 10.19pm 9/24/2015 . . . "feel your feet . . . connect that you can feel downward . . . if we were trees we would have roots, but as people we can still sense this connection, all the way down to the middle of the earth"

YUM!!!  How cool is this. . . So when I got this email from San Fran I jumped to the current Live session and he was doing this meditation, "we all connect to the SAME EARTH, our HOME" as he says now 10.22pm.  But there is no time, so my work now is connecting to all then, as in my own intentions to be full in the space of connection and truth!
  • What is the highest future possibility that we as a community can step into?
  • What is the intention that we can set for ourself, and to out collective community?
  • Feel this intention rising from out heart. . . share it with us
And this was what I heard and felt as I got online the morning that it all started. And here is the Wordle they created next. . .

New videos today and I've not finished this post from the first one.  Course I wrote out two pages and lost it.  Why would such a program exist that doesn't save regularly or at least have the sense to store temp files in easily accessible places. . . feel like the cave-men are still running the planet!

Oh and Otto Ended the first live-session with this outline of the process, each step taking a week to do, or so...

new course

ok, so this is a new online course. . . a MOOC.   And this is my commentary on it. . . First I followed the directions they provided and creating this profile on their webpage:
What I found particularly interesting was their first day of class, started with a live stream from MIT, where Otto spoke to us about their work, plans and all about the course. . . I've not yet seen the complete video.  But as shown here at right, I started with filling in everything that they asked for. . . seemed like a good place to start.  This included signing up for a HUB with other students to work together.  No hubs in Florida yet, so I read their "hub Instructions" and left comment about  virtual hub with Google Hangout?  Quintin offered to join it with me, but I've invited him and never got a reply.  This means that every new comment was sent to me also.  So with the live lecture starting someone else asked about a St Pete Hub. . . which means I got an email for this comment. . . WHICH REMINDED me about the live session.  I found it again and clicked the link for the live session and Otto was closing his Mindfulness session.  How perfect!  It was really freaky perfect, because it was all but at the point of Prayer to Change the World.  When else would I show up?

Now today to finally watch the full video is really cool, as they posted a Wordle about the questions we answered in the profile page above. SO the first  and second questions had these cool images:

Welcome to U.Lab

Welcome | Welcome to U.Lab | 15.671x Courseware | edX: Welcome to U.Lab: Transforming Business, Society, and Self. FaceBook Page, Setup Ur own HUB

As of today, we are a wonderfully diverse group of 33,086 people from 182 countries.

We all live in a time of disruptive change, one that requires a new collective leadership capacity. In U.Lab, we invite you on a journey to see the world in new ways, and to practice a method that allows leaders, entire organizations, and larger social systems to connect with and actualize their highest future possibility.

Over the coming weeks, we will introduce you to Theory U, an approach to leading profound change that has been developed by action researchers at MIT, and practiced by leaders around the world, for over 20 years.

You will apply this method to a challenge, issue, or system that matters to you, and “explore the future by doing” - which means, you will develop a prototype initiative that connects the personal, relational, and systemic dimensions of change.

To support your journey, U.Lab works by (1) creating a highly personal, practical, and mindful online learning environment (2) blending it with an eco-system of place-based learning communities and peer coaching groups, and (3) hosting real-time live classroom sessions throughout the course.

We'll explain how this all works in just a moment! But first, let's begin with the basics - how to navigate this course

What-else!  Of course . . . we need everyone to start doing this too.  Like find some data and make a change!
